i turned on my lights today, and found that one of my large peices of kenya if laying on its side. i was wondering if it is possible that it has become too large to support itself. I will see if i can get a pic up, but all the other kenya in my tank looks very happy..

You need more flow on it. Mine do that all the time (now, in fact) if the flow has decreased around them, or they just need more flow. The bigger they get, the more they need IMO.

they will also do that when the lights are off. will probably stand & open up after a period of strong lighting

ya they do tend to stand back up when the light goes out, but mine usually are also upright during no light hours too...they're not fully open and stretched out of course, but they're still upright. Add more flow and it should perk up. Not a strong flow though...just a nice easy flow over them. Otherwise its gonna frag itself if you put strong flow on it.

Definitely more flow. I had one and during non light hours would stay upright but sometimes would just shrink down a bit. If I had to stop the powerheads to do a water change, the kenya tree would slump over.

actually i just found out one of my powerheads died, it isnt facing that peice of kenya, but possibly over all flow is whats making it lay down. hear is the pic
