Kenya Tree Coral

I bought a Tree Coral frag about 2 weeks ago and in that time it has tripled in size and polyps. Is this normal growth for tree corals?

oh yea very common they had given me a frag and now its a massive tree

Do they just grow very fast?? Or do they take over a whole tank?

They will also spit off pieces so you will have tons to share. Fortunately, they are not a serious problem because they are easily removed if you have to many.

It probably has acclimated to your tank and fully opened. It should not have doubled or tripled it size that fast. I think you witnessed it filling out.

I had one in my 90g tank and it kept dropping little babies and I eventually had a bunch. I took it out after awhile but it was a good grower

Man. I was thinking I had a super coral. I figured I could invest in a 300 gal tank and before the years up have it full of tree corals to sale. Lol. If it was only that easy.

I would rate mine right up to xenia. I get a couple baby branches dropping every week from my mother colonies. I want to get some green kenya trees but hear they grow slower, if they even are kenya trees.

Mine drop 15 to 20 babies a week. I've sold, traded, and given away so many that I've saturated the market. I can't get rid of them anymore. Now a handfull a week gets tossed in the yard or flushed.
