Kenya Tree Help

I've had this kenya tree now for almost 2 years; in the past week, the kenya tree has been hunched over and the base is a bit shrivled up and the branches are not extending.

I've read that they will bend over like this when they are going to drop baby kenya trees off but I just wanted to check.

My paramenters are:
Ammonia: 0ppm
Nitrite: 0ppm
Nitrate: 0ppm
Alk: 2meg/l
pH: 8.2
Calcium: 350 ppm
Salinity: 1.020

BTW, my other corals have been fully extended.

Are those your typical numbers? Or have they suddenly changed? I think the salinity is a little low.

The only time my kenya tree acted that way, it dropped babies. I would guess that's what yours is doing.

My numbers are typically that way yes. The only thing that changes is the alk and the calcium but that is because i go through spirts where I dose and maintain alk at about 2.5-3 and my calcium 400-450. Other then that it's stayed the same for the last 2 years.

That could very well be your problem then. You should be maintaining your alk/calcium more closely. If you alk is falling below 2.5 meq/L then it's probably stressing the kenya tree. The calcium is also low from the first numbers. You should slowly bring your salinity up to 1.026 by topping off with saltwater for the next few days. There is no data to prove we should keep our salinity otherwise. There are inexpensive and easy ways now to keep your alk/ca levels in balance and at the proper level. Please read these articles.

Mine tends to bend over from time to time but they get right back up.
