Kenya Tree question....

I got a Kenya tree frag this summer and it's been growing like crazy, but in the last couple of weeks I've noticed that pieces of it are staring to break off (it's almost like they twist themselves off).

Now I have a slightly smaller Kenya Tree and a whole bunch of little ones all over my tank.

Is that normal?

That's how they "self frag" themselves. It must be growing pretty good and doing well in your tank! Keep up the good work! :D

i just had the same thing happen in my tank with a kenya tree that I got from got2lb. It will go through a peroid where it looks like ****e for about a week after it twists off all it can but it will start growing normaly again. started with on good size kenya and now I have one medium size that I've moved and about 10-12 small ones. From what i see it is normal. im guessing this means your doing something right.

good luck

wait til it's starts dropping 5-10 a week, when I had my big tank I had one large kenya tree that got alittle to comfortable. Tends to rearrange your aquascaping abit.

I've got the same problem. Every time I use my mag float, I 'frag' the Kenya Tree from the water movement.

I have GSPs, purplr mushrooms, kenya tree and xenia in my tank. All of them spread really fast, but the kenya tree is the only coral I regret putting in my tank.

I though it was cool at first, but now I have to pull 5 or 10 frags out of my tank a week. And they are everywhere still...
