Kenya tree shriveling

I've noticed that yesterday and today my kenya trees have been turning a darker color and been shriveling. I took my largest one and cleaned of his base and moved him to hopefully better conditions... I also noticed that the bases are like solidifying ??? like they are turning into a hard coral... its really weird... anyone know why? what I should do? my levels were fine but I'm gonna do another test...

I just tested my water again and I have

Ammonia: 0
Nitrate: 0-5
Nitrite: 0
pH: 8.2

I'm gonna do a nice big water change and see if that helps

They'll recover, no worries. The hard bases are of a maturing Tree.

OK... few days later, still shriveled, but alive
