does anyone have keys rock or gulf rock from tbs with pics? i don't
know the difference and would like to see pictures before i order. i know there are threads before about this but havent seen pics of both. also would like ppls opinions of best food for live rock. i've seen on other threads DT's and phytoplankton but some said phytoplankton is to small for corals to eat and only good for small filter feeders. thanks!javascript:smilie('')

I don't have pics but I can describe the basic differences. My gulf rock had WAY more life on it. Everything from a decorator crab to procelain crabs, pistol shrimp, numerous macro algae, corals, feather dusters, urchins, etc. The keys rock had less variety of life and much more macro algae. The keys rock is more pourous and full of little holes and caves. It also had a wider variety of coraline algaes on it. Some very cool colors. It was kind of nice getting both.

As far as feeding, I use a product called reef chili and I have heard no complaints from my tank.

from what i understand the keys site was distroyed by storms last year. only gulf rock now. i am one of the lucky ones, i have a 50/50mix in my 75 thats now over a yr old.

ok thanks for replying. was going to order the package for a 55 last weekend but turned out my 56 was only 42 gallons so am now trying to buy a new tank and trade that one in... guess im going to order gulf then. really bad timing because of thanksgiving. i wish i could do 50gulf/50keys...
