kick ick????

not sure about the SPS but Ive never seen it get rid of ich. I tried it a few times when I started my first tanks and never saw any results, searching around here has lead me to believe this is a common outcome.

The only way to kick ick is to remove all your fish and QT them for a period of 6-8 weeks. This will allow 2-3 cycles of the parasite to occur, without a host they cannot live, therefore removing it from your system.

I'm going through this process right now. My black tang that I got stressed out really easy and within two days was completely broke out in ick, then my powder brown started getting it. So I know have all my fish removed from the tank and resting peacefully at SITC! Thanks Marcye!!!

Hopefully in 6-7 more weeks I'll have fish in my system again!!!

thanks for the input...i've had the same fish in my tank for close to two years, added a new one two weeks ago...looked really healthy, now i have ick...mainly on a purple tang and a copperband ...

It really comes out when there stressed. I've never seen a tang or fish for that matter get so stressed out as my black tang! Hopefully you will beat it, feed lots of garlic with your food(s). Keep an eye on it's breathing and make sure it's not laboring to breath... These are all tips that I have received from Marcye at SITC, she has a lot of knowlege on this subject.

Fast eddie you should post in the Disease Forums or General Forums...you'll probably find more people that used the product there.

Cstire- For myself I've had better luck with copper in a QT than Hypo.
