Kidninja's 12 Gallon JBJ Nano Cube DX

Awesome work you put into your tanks........I have a 10g cycling and now I know which corals will do well and are very hearty......I'm glad I came across this thread. I'm definitely going to sub so I can watch how things turn out on the 2 new setups.

Great WORK!! I tip my hat off to you

so far the 24 has been doing great! i think i have too much rock in the tank but i'll see what i want to do with that. anyways i'll try to get some pics up tomorrow =)

Very nice, how do you like the maxspect on the nano? do you feel its too much or does not spread the light enough? And you better have had pictures of the move!

Just finished this thread... loved it!
Got me motivated to get back into the hobby after a few years away.

Any updates?

Hi Kidninja...I just gotta say I just got done reading all 14 pages of your 12gal nano thread, and I LOVE YOUR TANK! I just am now setting up a 12gal jbj nano DX, that has 72 watts of PC's over it, plus another light over the rear 1st chamber, and a couple blue led's in it.

Anyway...are you running any chemipure, or purigen or Chaeto in your rear 3 chambers? Also, it looks like you have the surface skimmer for your intake..I have that too, but mine just hangs over the regular intake loosely, do you glue it in place, or does it just hang there? It seems like it should be glued down to me, but I could be wrong.

I am just trying to figure out what I need to put in the rear chambers (if anything)..also, how deep is your sandbed, and how much liverock do you have in there under all those corals!

Again, great job.

i do not run and never ran any of that magical voodoo stuff. all pure water changes every 2 weeks or so. that is the stock surface skimmer and it is NOT glued to the intake. sand is up to you as well as rocks

and here is another teaser for all my fans.... lol

so does the stock surface skimmer really just hang in front of the main intake slots? I assume that water pressure keeps it pressed back against the wall??

one other question..do you use an ATO at all on your nano? I am thinking of getting the JBJ ATO unit..and just wanted opinions on it.

JBJ 12 gallon

JBJ 12 gallon

So there are no Sponges or any filter media in the rear chambers, just a pump ? for that 12 gallon jbj
