Kidninja's 12 Gallon JBJ Nano Cube DX

Your tank is gorgeous! I've had a 12 gal JBJ DX up for almost 4 years now, but I hadn't spent much time on it until the last few months. I moved recently and have been taking the time to give it some much needed attention. I was curious, have you changed the bulbs? and have you started dosing any additives? Your corals are amazing and the coralline seems to cover everything. I have a cabbage leather, small zoa colony, some button polyps and tons of shrooms at the moment, but the shrooms seem to be the only ones really thriving and spreading. I haven't been dosing anything, just frequent water changes and lots of cheato in the back compartment. I've been contemplating dosing some calcium/Purple Up to pump up the coralline growth but I'm scared to start dosing anything with out testing for it regularly.

No haven't changed the bulbs yet

No i dont use dosing additives. what i do to get coraline to spread is that when i do a water change. once all the new water is put into the tank, i scrape the back wall to get some coraline off and turn on the pumps to shoot it around the tank lol

JUST A QUICK UPDATE!!

Tank is looking amazing! My monticaps are fully back to color/ healthy. Everything is growing and spreading!

I monti caps did the same thing for a couple weeks but everything in my nano is looking better. Did you find out the monti caps problem???

I think it was because my shrimp died (have no clue why) and might have caused a mini spike, who knows!

thanks! i make it seem easy (i guess) but there are always little things to tinker around with, snails getting caught in powerheads, cleaning the glass etc etc

What bulbs are you using? The standard 24w PC 50/50??

I just picked up a used 12g JBJ Nano-cube DX. The bulbs are the standard 50/50 combination. Supposedly they have only been used about 3 months. Mine looks very dark and heavily blue.

yep mine are the original standard bulbs never changed

take a pic of yours and i'll give you my opinion
