Hey i got a peppermint shrimp to take care of a little aiptasia but he keeps eating my snails. Has anyone else had this happen? Any tips on how to catch him? thanks
Sure it isn't a carmel shrimp? From what I understand the carmel shrimp is often confused as a pep and they eat corals so I don't think snails would be out of the question. A way to try to catch it is hold a piece of fish or mysis and he may jump on your hand. Mine do any way. Here is a link to my thread if you scroll down you will see pics and a way to tell the difference.
I'm not 100% sure he's actually killing them but i had no problem with snails before him and now my tank looks like a battlefield with prob. 8 snail shells astrea and cerith in the middle exactly where he likes to hang out. I'll definetly check out the link thanks
Heres how i caught a nusence crab might work for a shrimp. Get a small jar and put a couple peices for krill in the bottom propted up at and angle should go in to eat and when it does snatch up the jar. Might work.
