Killing acro-eating redworms with dog de-wormer?

So I noticed some of my acroporas were not doing so hot. Upon close inspection I discovered they were covered with redbugs. I tried using a coral dip but it did not work. After some research and talking to more experienced saltwater aquarium owners I have decided to try Interceptor (MILBEMYCIN OXIME). However, Interceptor has been discontinued so I ordered another de-wormer that has Milbemycin Oxime as well as two other ingredients ( lufenuron and praziquantel). I plan to dose my 120 gallon tank but I need to know what effects, if any, lufenuron and praziquantel will have on creatures in my tank. I know I need to remove my shrimp and crabs because milbemycin oxime will kill them but should I also remove things like my brittle stars, serpent stars, bubble tip anemone, tuxedo urchin, clam?

I am assuming that because you are planning on using a de-wormer, that these are flatworms. True? If so, I would use a velvet nudibranch or flatworm exit before I would use a product made for dogs... Both of these are known to be pretty effective at reducing and or eliminating flatworms and both are reef safe.

No, they are acropora eating red bugs. Most people are using the Sentinel de-wormer now to dose their entire tanks with great results. I am just not finding a lot of information on what I should do with my Clam, anemone, starfish, and urchin. I would hate to kill them when all I need to do is transfer them to my bigger tank.

posted this in your other thread also, but just in case:
probably safer to research the Bayer method as seems to be what people are doing more often these days. i still have some old Interceptor so haven't made the switch yet. a forum search on 'bayer' will give you plenty of how-to's.

Praziquantel is Prazi-Pro, reported to be reef safe. I couldn't tell you about lufenuron. I'm a licensed vet tech, and I'm familiar with how lufenuron works for fleas, which is that it basically acts as "birth control" by inhibiting chitin production and making eggs not viable. I would imagine it would have the same action on any invertebrates in your tank... Personally I wouldn't use it.
