Kilroy's 125G Build Thread

I picked up a trio of lyretail anthias, one male and two female.

In the same batch, I grabbed a red-headed salon fairy wrasse.

Beautiful creatures. They are all sitting in my QT right now, and will stay there for at least two weeks for observation. So far, they seem to be getting along great:

Earlier today, I added two new float switches: First, to my NSW storage bin, to indicate low level, and second in my dirty SW bin to indicate high level. I've added these two my Apex, and it will automatically text and email me when either situation happens. Since the Apex Break Out Box only has one ground slot, I had to added a grounding bar and nested all of my ground wires for the various floats that I have active (now 4 total) to the grounding bar, then a single wire to the ground slot in the BOB. I'm no electrician, so this took me some time to figure out, but I think I've got it working now. If anybody out there is reading, and has a question about this, I can always take pics if need be.

In fish news - the same fish are still in QT, but I think they are all starting to look a lot better after two treatments of PraziPro. I am thinking about moving them to the display shortly, then I can clean out the QT, and start fresh with some more fish. I'm thinking of adding either a pair of clarkii clowns next, or perhaps a starry blenny and a midas blenny.

Got three new little guys in QT:

Midas Blenny:

Purple Tang:

Potters Angel:

I also added a float switch to my RO/DI storage bin similarly to what I added in the other storage bins. Now, I'll receive an email and a text message from my Apex if any of my storage bins get too low/high (depending on the use).

A full tank shot from earlier today:

seems like every time I try to take a FTS, all the fish are hiding...

some coral shots, as well:

Is your plan to just leave the brut cans surrounding the sump

Yes, each can is a specific reservoir. From left to right in the photo, 1. RO/DI water for auto-top off, 2. dirty water out of the sump from my automated water change, 3. salt water batch mixing, and 4. new salt water in for my automated water change. 1, 2, and 4 all have float switches in them so that my apex can automatically tell me when they are full/empty.

Any updates? Wondering how the auto WC is still working with the DOS pumps?

thanks for checking in. DOS pumps have been going strong for 9+ months now. All I have to do is keep the new saltwater bin full and the dirty saltwater bin empty, and all goes very smoothly. I'm very happy with the decision to automate the water changes, as it saves me a ton of time and I end up changing more water and it helps to keep my numbers down. Nitrates <5, ammonia 0, nitrite 0, phosphate 0.
