kleins butterfly

Hi everyone,

First time trying to share a quick video.My kleins butterfly after three weeks in QT.Another 2 weeks,and he will be at home in my 240FOWLR .

Nice looking fish. Very hardy. Glad to see you're quarantining too! Good luck with it. Of the keepable butterflies, Kleins are one of my favorites.

Just curious about your QT setup--is that a 15 gal? I see a heater and powerhead, do you have a filter of some kind?

Ladyshark,thanks for the comments,

Actually,its a 40 gal. breeder.There is a aquaclear 70 filter running off the back,with a fliterpad and ceramic biomedia.

I do 5 gal water changes every other day.First week,i used no meds,just got him/her to eat as much food as possible to put on weight.

Second week dosed with prazipro,7 day dose,removed that with carbon.It was flashing against the rock in the tank,and the LFS i got it from uses a theraputic copper in his fish holding tank,i was more concerned about flukes/internal parasites than ick/velvet.

Now the next couple of weeks will be careful observation for any sign of external parasites,i.e, ick/velvet.So far nothing.If i do have to treat with cupramine,rock work and the few pieces of live rock will be removed,and replaced with PVC pieces.

will a kleins and a copperbanded butterfly be aggressive to each other? or will they be peaceful? i have a large cbb and wanted to add a sm or med sized kleins. n e one have experience with it?
