Koddie Doo 3.0

Koddie Doo

Czar of All ThingsAwesome
Well, the basement is finally finished and I have decided to upgrade the tank.:bounce3:

Still have a lot of work to do before I get this thing wet, but at least I have the tank now. My wife decided that we needed to paint the stand and went with a 90 gallon, since it was he same footprint as the 75 gallon I had. I am going to be doing a bunch of upgrades as I go, but am going to start off with what I have.... at least while it cycles.

Here is what the new one looks like, as well as earlier versions.

Are you going mixed reef?

At this point I am just looking to get it wet...:D. But yes I have always liked the mixed reef look and the movement of softies. This time with where the tank is located I should not have temp swings and a lot of indirect light like prior tanks. So hopefully with having less variables, I can try a couple sticks

1.0 and 2.0 look great and so does the basement. The AV aficionado in me wants to tell you to lower your TV about a foot. [emoji1]

Let me know if you need any frags once you get started.

I appreciate your input. It's pretty good size TV (70 inches) and we are planning on putting a bar down here so we wanted to hang a little bit higher than the back of the couch. It will make a little more sense when you come over and check it out.

Probably gonna take you up on that. May need some help with some plumbing or at least thinking out my plumbing. I have always used separate pumps for everything. This time I want to get it down to 1 pump on a manifold for everything.

Did my initial plumbing, nothing fancy to start the project. I will add the manifold later after I cycle.

Finally found some time to hang my light.

Also decided to go with the new Reef Rock 2.1. Man is it purple. Think that I am going to mix some base rock in with it.

Hoping to have this thing wet by the end of next week end...

And we are live...

Found out my pump I was had in storage is too loud (ehiem 1260). Gonna have to get a new one this week end. Picking up a Jeboa.

Also planning to add 10 Green Chromis.

Tank is coming along, I think I am far enough past the cycle now. Added 6 Green Chromis and 2 Purple Fire fish and 1 Kaudern's Cardinal, Planning on turning on the PS this weekend. just to see If I can pull out any junk.

I notices a smell coming from my tank and isolated it to smelly water in my top off. I guess it was not cleaned out enough... anyways that has been corrected.

Also have some more rock coming. hope to make a couple cool shapes for the other side of the tank.

Finally getting to my manifold. This is my dry fit mockup. I will be running a Skimmer, Carbon and GFO ifI need to.

Looks great.

I wouldn't add the 90s if you don't need them. If you have extra spaces in the manifold I wouldn't add any pieces past the valves. This let's you customize it to your future needs as they arise.

Looks good. How much rock do you have in there now? Doesn't look like much. If you add too much new rock look out for a mini cycle.

I am going to plumb it into the system tomorrow, I don't have a tone of space, so I needed them..... I think
