Kohens echinata not blue

Dear LA/DD
Thanks to your excellent service I have been finally able to aquire this coral. However it was not as blue as I was expecting it to be, in fact it was far more green than blue. I understand you use 20k bulbs, but even placing the coral under actinics there was barely some blue. I normally would not complain but this was the main reason I wanted this piece so badly :( Are your other pieces like this as well?

ezcompany,

Thank you for informing us of your concern. It is possible for there to be a difference in the coloration of corals due to loss of spectrum or intensity in the light. We have viewed the photo and quick stats of the Kohen's echinata on LiveAquaria and wish to mention that the coral should be a green color with blue tips and the amount of blue colored tips may vary among pieces. However, we would be happy to check with our Aquatics Director regarding the coral you received and repost with more information on Monday.

My Kohen's is mint green. I've only ever seen pics the same color, with maybe a hint of blue/green/purple-ish polyps...

I am very very sorry, I meant Hawkins echinata not Kohens.
I have no idea where I got the name Kohen from. I apologize for the confusion.
Unfortunately, the coral started to necrosis on the 2nd or 3rd day. I fragged it in an attempt to save it but I think I was too late. :(

Ezcompany,

FWIW, I just got one of these directly from ORA. It is green with a blue sheen to it, certainly not tort blue, if that's what you were expecting....
