Went upstate to my weekend house for the first time this year, and i am happy to say looks like all my koi made it throught the winter including a while giant that is about 3 feet long. The Pond is about 200 feet by 350 feet and 28 feed deep in the center, it's fed by a natural brook. Also my pitbull "Mars" had to take a dip and chase away a duck.

no one there seems be to enough natural food in the pond to keep them happy and fat. They actually dont really eat the prepared foods. I put in 24 3" Koi last spring to beef up the population ( only had about 20 in there at the time) and i would say they grew to about 8 to 10" over the last year.

I'm about 12 miles north of margaretville or 60 miles north of Kingston. right on the NYC water supply
