Kold Steril Units in Davis

I am wondering if anyone in Davis has used one of these units? I would really like to get one, but I'm not sure if it would be the right choice for this areas water.

It is a water purifier that doesn't waste water like an RO unit. They have been around many years, and I see some good reports about them. Just curious if anyone with water as bad as Davis has tried one or knows about it.
