Kole Tang dead in QT mystery

I found my Kole Tang laying dead on the bottom of my QT this morning.
It seemed perfectly fine yesterday, swimming and eating, no strange behaviour.

16 Gallon QT
AC 50 with sponge and filterfloss
Live rock rubble
No meds, went through no treatments
78 Degrees
1.020 Salinity

Tanksmates:
Bangaii Cardinal
Fathead Anthais
Longnose Hawkfish (tiny)

Any ideas ?

Give him bits of garlic and ginger juice, he will perk right back up.

Seriously though, OP, sorry for the loss. Please confirm that you have no amonia in that tank. Going from healthy to dead this fast is likely velvet. How long have you had him? I would be worried for the health of the tank mates - might be best to get CP/cupermine in the tank asap.

Had the Tang for 3 weeks. Seemed fine until it was dead.
Tested ammonia, was under .25. Slight green tint to the yellow but barely.
Dosed CP to the tank today in case it was velvet. Tank mates are eating and swimming. Will run 30 days CP. thanks.

Keep an eye on that ammonia - anything above 0 will hurt the fish, even if it doesn't kill them immediately.
