This Kole Tang has been in the tank for 7 days. Absolutely no problems at all. Overnight these white spots appeared. Does not appear to be Ich to me. Too Large.

any ideas?

Other tank occupants: Maroon Clown, yellow-tailed damsel, orchid dottyback, coral beauty, citron goby, cleaner shrimp., corals. Nothing shows signs of anything else.

Thats a rough crowd! It looks as if it could be a bacterial infection of sorts. If he wasn't quarentined he could also be carrying parasites. I would remove him to a quarentine tank if this does not clear up or continues to get worse . Treat with an antibiotic such as Furan-2 or Maracyn 2

Is he eating? Breathing heavy?

Eating

He constantly nibbles at the live-rock, but I have "never" seen him take brine shrimp.

I'll keep an eye on him and see what he looks like tomorrow. Catching him will mean taking down a 120 gallon tank for all practical purposes.

Anyone else have ideas????????????
