Koralia pump & controller question

I upgraded my old Koralias and about a week ago I started using a Koralia circulation and wave pump - one on each end of the tank - and the koralia smartwave pump controller. Each time it switches from one side to the other it makes a loud clicking noise. Does anyone use these and have the same problem? If this is just the way it is, I'm going to return the controller and just keep the pumps on continually.

Also, there is a setting for 15 sec, 1 min, 15 min, 30 min, etc. I have it set for 1 min. but I don't know what is the best setting - does it matter?

Thanks - and Happy Easter everyone!

I have heard that certain koralia have this problem. I know the magnums don't; I have them on a controller and there is no sound at all.

I don't know this particular controller, but if it has a setting to randomly pick time from 1 sec to 10 seconds works best for waves and random flow in a six foot by 2 foot with two mag 7's on one end. Generally the shorter time frames will produce better waves and overall water movement and longer time frames will produce stronger flow. You want a mix of both.

The korrilias have been known fot this since they first came out. The key to stopping this is, the controller must not stop the pump fully. Example i have two of the original k 4's on a Scio controller which cycles from 15% to 100% back and forth every 30 seconds. There is never a period when either pump is fully stopped. Hence no start up noise. I have no experience with your controller.but i hope this helps
