koralia pump

I have heard horribible things about koralia pumps and them shreding snails to pieces, and even little fish. Anyone have experience with this? I dont really trust the guy who told me about this.

but to answer your question, it depends on what model. If you have two koralia 2's, that woud be plenty.

I have two in my 72 tank... no problems... snails actually go over them and clean them well... so does the shrimp and the crab... no deaths in my tank due to the Koralias...

Two Koralias should be plenty for your tank... I think the wave maker would be an overkill...

never tried my pumps on a wavemaker but dont think Hydor advises it.

never had a problem with fish or snails being chopped up either.

i have a friend with her koralias hooked to a wave maker and everytime the turn on they make a clicking noise and drive her crazy. i just turn mine on and leave them on.

they are great. no deaths due to good circulation

I had one snail get decapitated. it was his fault. But as for the wave make I have both of mine on one, they have been for 3 months now and had no problems (YET) As for the click noise. If you put tiny plastic washers in the bottom it will keep the propeller from jumping every time the PH turns on.

never had anything get eaten by my pumps. I also have them on a wave maker. It does cause a clicking noise on startup 50% of the time but not to bad.

usmc121581, I am interested in this fix with the washers. I have not heard of that one before.
