Koralia retrofit

Has anyone tried cutting off the pivot point and removing the additional piece attached to the inside magnet? Then glue them together. I need the overall length smaller and don't need to pivot it. What type of glue would I use of this will work.

Paul, is it a Korallia 4? I have one that's busted you can have for the parts so you don't have to cut yours. I'm thinking that aquarium silicone would likely work.
