koralia revolution?

Other peeps can chime in here but I think that a pair of 1050's would do the trick if you're just keeping softies..maybe even a 750 and a 1050.

I have the variable speed pumps on a 4 way controller. Actually, I have another set ready to go, just haven't put it in the tank.

The pumps are great for the price. I like that they are smaller and quieter. The fact that they are controllable is great. Running them on very short intervals will kill them fast and they will restart backwards.

the starting backwards is much better with the modified part they will send free. I've only had one backwards start that I noticed in the frag tank in the last month, before then it was daily

My 1050 just started acting weird yesterday. :(

I plug it in, and the prop shakes back and forth. If I turn it a little by hand, then try again, it starts spinning as expected.

I cleaned it tonight, and I'll see how it behaves tomorrow once it's back in the tank.

I've had it for a couple of months, and unplug it occasionally to give my fish a break. Been meaning to plug it into a timer...

Brandon- the issue with the Koralia Evolutions spinning backwards is very common. The lubricant on the bushing causes the propeller to slip and run in reverse when starting. Hydor has a recall on it and if you contact them you can get a replacement for free. In the mean time, a lot of people claim that a dab of superglue on the bushing will fix it. Hope this helps!

I'll try compost pictures of the updated part tonight. My spare replacement part should hold you over for now

FYI... Hydor says that cleaning the bushing can help problems like this. Here's the exploded view they sent me:

I'll try the next time I have it apart.

Oh well, I cleaned the bushing like Hydor suggested (for my 1050 which was not spinning), and now it is officially spinning backwards. Doh!

:sad2:

Put a dab of superglue on the bushing. Lots of people are saying that it fixes the problem.

I'll go this route:

ATTENTION KORALIA EVOLUTION OWNERS

Hydor has discovered a slight modification is necessary to ensure the proper functioning of some Koralia Evo Pumps.

The issue is that some pumps can run backwards over time when used with certain timers and wavemaker devices.

The problem can usually be corrected by a simple cleaning of the impeller bushing, bushing o-ring and bushing housing with any safe solvent such as rubbing alcohol.

Hydor has a modified bushing and bushing housing available to the consumer at no charge.

Please contact Hydor USA at any time for assistance at 916-920-5222 or 866-493-6787 or hydorusa.office@hydor.com

Well... tried the new bushing from Hydor, and now the impeller is just shaking back and forth on my 1050.

To make matters worse, I just realized my 750 is now spinning backwards in my tank.

Hydor sent the new bushing pretty fast, I'll see what they say next...

When you put thr prop on look at the indentations. If it is not rotated correctly it not seat all the way down. believe they both take the same bushings, so you can move it over if you want!
