Koran angel

I came home last night and my wife had surprised me with a new fish. A 2 inch koran angel was bobbing around in my qt, waiting to be acclimated. A few months back I lost an emperor, and she wanted to replace him. I can forgive the confusion, they DO look similar to a non-reefer.

So, what do you know about these guys? I would ordinarily research a lot more but I have this fella, so I'm going to make a go of it.

Well,

Korans are not quite as pretty as the emperor when they are out of the juvenile stage and into the adult stage. personality wise, they are going the be very similar. When in juvy stage, they look alike, except the koran has semicircles and the emperor has full circles. hope this helped.

Thanks, Lisa. I read that and I think I am happy with her mistake.

while it's almost always a mistake for someone to buy a fish for someone as a "surprise", your wife is a peach for supporting you in your hobby.

Usually she gets me a gift card or just says, here's some money, go play.

Our LFS ALWAYS has korans (not always, but about 60% of the time). She like them, but I told her for years to hold out, and we'd get an emperor. She liked that, too. He had a mishap with an intake (I have since redesigned that). She was getting my beagle a new collar and saw the little angel and thought :"Why not?"

I figure that it's her tank, too, so sure. He's adapting well. He has managed to befriend my yellow striped maroon clown and is using the clown to keep the damsels off his back. It's pretty funny. He gets bolder by the day, and even chased my eight inch vlamingi tang around.
