koran angelfish question(s)

D.J.'s reef

im not gona buy one.YET..but my lfs has a 1in koran in stock for $30...which seems alil high to me but he is known for his weird pricing.....

just wondering who all has one and what do you keep it with? i know they are an sps eater and not good for clams. but alot of us keep non reef safe stuff in our reefs.....

just curious to if they are worth the risk and would them harm any other corals like if they where housed in a softie tank or something?

friends of mine have a 5 inch in a softie tank for 2 years now
it doenst seem to harm anything, they also have clams
i wouldnt trust them with sps

With the Koran being only 1" that's a very young fish. It will need feeding 5-6 times a day until it reaches atleast 3-4 inches. So there is a chance that it may pick at corals and clams because it needs to eat. Once that starts the fish will never stop picking at the stuff you don't want him to. Angels in general are big coral pickers.

Had one many many years ago, had to sell it when it got too big -- they get huge. Mine never touched my clam, mushrooms, and any other softies I had in that tank. Though that was a while ago so can't recall what softies I had.

ive always wanted one but dont have the tank room to house 2 large reef fishes...and since i already have the hippo that i gota plan and upgrade for....

they are beautiful fish...and the juvies colors and markings are so stunning....

why is it that the more beautiful the fish the less reef safe it is!!!
