I thought krylon fusion paint was water resistant sprayed some synthetic corals and PVC and it does not seem to hold after ahile in water any other water resistant paints as I would like to use underwater without toxicity to fish No corals FOWLR Please respond ASAP

did you wash the surfaces? any oils, dirt, and dust may weaken the bond of the paint. I painted the rear of my tank and my intake/return PVC pipes, and they are holding up fine. That was about 6 months ago.

I sprayed the back of an acrylic tank with Fusion and it worked great. I have no idea how it would hold up when under water though.

Try using acetone (nail polish remover) or lacquer thinner to clean the pvc first. It will slightly soften the surface, & the fusion paint will adhere better. Let the paint fully cure before placing it underwater. Custom auto shops have used this method for years to color plastic trim with great results ! :smokin:

Honestly with synthetic corals, just bleach them. I've done it for years with succes. Eventually the colored ones will fade but it takes a while. Oh yeah only a little splash of liquid bleach should be added to say a 5gall. bucket with the decorations in it.
