I took these photos of this fish at a LFS last week of a fish that was listed as a flasher wrasse. I had my suspicions that this was wrong due to some longer fins that I was noticing. When I went back today the coloration had definitely changed. The forehead had three distinct blue stripes like I've seen before on long fin fairy wrasse but the fins are very dark possibly black. I'm just hoping that some of the wrasse experts out there can shed some light on this. Are there other wrasses that exhibit those same forehead stripes or does that narrow it down to the long fin color variants. Also could this be a kwazulu since the fins are so dark. I will try to get a better picture if I get back tomorrow.

Mmm, doesn't look to be Kwazulu at all to me. In fact, a Paracheilinus wrasse wins the odds right now; I'd need to see a better photo with the fins.

Yep when I went back today the color was more defined. Definitely C. Rubriventralis. Thanks for the replies.
