Kyle's 120 Tech Build

uncleant nice tank. im also 16 and i have a 125 gal reef with a 55 gal sump/fudge. All my friends think im crazy but im in love with it. I can sit there for hours just looking at the tank. Im sorry to hear about the fire. I cant wait to see some pics of this new tank.
yeah man my friends think im crazy too. I've got two of them into it but they dont like it like I do. The three of us started up an aquarium club at school though. 60 people are in it, they all want to see what its like so hopefully i'll know a few more highschoolers who keep reefs.

czerbe tank is awsome if you don't mind how much for it and the stand
I bought it from a real expensive LFS by us but it was 1200 for the tank and 800 for the stand. You could probably do much better. I got a quote from a store in Charleston just to compare the two and it was about 250 cheaper for both of them. Its a great tank though, i would reccomend it to anyone.

Nice

Any pics of your sump?

Yeah man i acutally made a sump and it cracked b/c i'm an idiot and wedged the baffles in too tight. So i just got lazy and went out and bought a sump. I'll try and get some pics up tonight or tommorow.

Tank update:
My lights came today, they are awesome! I also introduced a maroon clown yesterday. Hes a little guy so I had to turn down the vortechs b/c i was worried about him getting sucked in.

here is some pictures. sorry for my horrible photo skills. I have a nice camera but i dont know how to use it.

Hi Kyle,

Nice looking start. I hope you don't have another fire or broken sump water leak. Your mom says another water leak and you may be donating the setup to your school. You will have to make your own items without telling anyone, or ask an engineer if you know a good one.

Anderson Ohio, robo repair... sounds alot like somebody I know, haha. Yeah nobody ever told me you can't wedge baffles in too tight. I may need to bring the engineer in on the next project. Thats if I can pull him away from the lights, for somebody who supposedly is not interested in my aquarium he sure likes to play with those changing the spectrums and turning on the moonlights to show everyone who comes over.

thanks New to the reef. I'll try to keep up the pics, I'm planning on picking up some sticks soon, probly some montis. That pinktail eats like a champ. I'm kinda worried about him going after the maroon but as long as i keep them well fed while the maroon grows it should be fine.

just a word of advice on the pinktail. Its a real cool fish if any of you are interested but when you buy it make sure they put it in at least two bags. He tore apart the fish bag i had him in with his teeth. If they had put him in one bag their would have been water all over the car. Make sure if you get a trigger to put him in at least 2 bags. Besides terrorizing the bag this is a sweet fish.

Wow thats some equipment list. I love the look of the solaris lights. Really cool. I'm 17, and i have friends that think i'm insane as well, but i love the hobby. I'm located in Chapel Hill, North carolina.

damn man awsome set up holy crap! im 16 and have a 29gallon sps tank. did u say inusurance was paying for all of the equiptment due to the fire to the other tank? n e ways i cant wait to c some sticks in there man its gonna look awsome! keep up the great work

Just remember, if you have a Tech tank, the Vortechs won't adhere to the BACK glass. See the thread in the Ecotech Marine Forum.:(
