I have this harlequin shrimp from divers den, had a pair sold one. These two cleared literally thousands of asternia stars from my tank in about two months, now i feed them very large starfsh that cost me $13 a piece, thus i want to see him go to a good home. He LOVES to eat...He will be $35 firm. since i had to pay $35 each plus the shipping costs..he is used ot being with very large tangs, wrasses etc.. noone messes with him ..

I may be interested. I have a lot of Asterina starfish but haven't decided if they need to go or not. At one point I was reading that they were a sign of a healthy tank, now I'm reading that they are public enemy #2. Next to aptasia.

Let me know he's a starfish killer .. Loves them.. Asternia are great until they devour all of your zoos

I'm 99% certain they are killing my psammacora, also. Eating or not, I can't say, but they are always in the crevices between the branches and it seems to be killing it

They eat zoos? That seems odd. Asterias are like potato chips to them. Some people say you can feed them starfish legs, but it is so cool to watch them take down a start fish

Asternias eat zoos not the harlequin shrimp. The picture in this thread shows him eating a starfish leg off.

He is currently pending sale ..

24 hours later and it's doing well in my tank. We saw it out this morning but it has since gone into hiding. Funny, I've got asterina starfish scurrying up the sides of the tank all of a sudden. :-)

That's what they will do. It's odd how they know he's in there...but believe me, he will get every single one of them..one of the most efficient and impressive hunters I've ever witnessed.
