This is probably a really stupid question...but...
I've been looking at the pics posted here of other peoples reef tanks. They look so pristine and beautiful. I clean my tank often, do water changes etc.......I do some kind of maintenance every week (lately everyday trying to rid myself of the hair algae).
When I beat the hair algae and get more of the coralline algae that seems to be growing faster now will my tank look that pristine.
Should i dump the background on the tank. Should I try changing the landscape. Do I have too much live rock? I know the tank is crowded.
( I have a friend who I'm going to help get a tank started and she is aiming for a reef so she can help me by taking some excess reef stock but it will be a while, at least I'll finally know someone who understands the passion.)
I upgraded to the larger tank about 5 months ago so I suppose it really is still young, the previous tank was a 29 that I had for about a year and a half and I guess this one still has some "breaking in" to go through yet. i don't really have the space to go any bigger right now.
Anyway, any suggestions on how to make my tank look nicer.
I'm feeling a little in adequate or is perfectly pristine all the time just a pipe dream and i'm beating myself up for nothing.
I'd like a better protein skimmer which I know would really help but i'm having a hard time finding one that's small and hangs on the outside. I bought a coralife super skimmer 65 on line but it's huge! Any suggestions on something small but effective would be greatly appreciated.
