Large angels???????????????

IF IT DONT WORK OUT PM ME..
I have room for either the personifer or the scribbled....

well they are both chaetodontoplus so iam guessing it may be possible for it to be long term..but then again they may get whos boss worked out ..its a 50/50 as far as my limited knowledge goes..and you will most likley get a mix of it will work out/it wont work out opinions on this and then each fish is diffrent, so what worked with fish a and fish b in person a's tank wont in person b's tank

The Personifer is definitely winning the dominance battle. He chases the Scribbled every time it comes out of hiding. I am still hoping that things will settle down. I don't want to get rid of either fish and it would be nearly impossible to catch one of them. Having a large and especially deep tank with 500 lbs of live rock makes capturing anything problematic. I was wondering if adding a third large angel would confuse them enough so they did not know who to fight or if things would be even worse. Anyone have experience with this?

Well.....since this is an angelfish thread I thought I would give you all an update on my angelfish. I finally got a Regal angel that will eat! It is my third try as the first and then the second one refused to eat anything and died from starvation. I was ordering a red spotted blenny on line and decided to add another Regal angel to the shipment. Went for the non Red Sea variety this time even though the Red Sea ones are suppose to be more likely to eat and have a little bit prettier coloring. The non Red sea ones run cheaper in the $75 dollar range compared to the Red Sea ones that run about $130. My new one was eating from the second day with food large enough to attach to a rock with a rubber band....meaning squid from the market and krill. Only had him a couple of days and he has not learned to eat food that floats yet, but at least he eats something. The first two would not eat at all.

In response to the above post with the Personifier and adding the Scribbled.....I am sorry this is happening to you, and really hope that the Personifier calms down in a few days. Did you read my earlier post in this thread in which I stated I would not advise adding large similar angelfish from the same group in the same tank? Specifically it said I would not add a Personifier to my tank because I already had a Scribbled and would not do that to her. Did you see my post?? Lesley

PM sent..adding more angels

well now it is time for me to get off the putter..sunday water change time (kids are gone to church, wife at work, and dogs outside so now is the time for my 300 gallons of weekly water changes on multiple tanks with out "help"

to e55MD....had similar problem with my Majestic and the Scibbled. Put a mirror next to the tank for a couple of days. Didn't stop the Majestic, but did make it think there was another angel around. It will distract the Personifer a bit. Took about one week for them to settle down. They now do fine with the Emperator also.....no aggression for the last six months.

Oceancowboy- thanks for your input. Things seem to be getting better already. My only issue now is the scribbled is very shy. He hides when the tank lights are on but swims around the rest of the time (but does hide away if there is sudden movement around the tank). My understanding is that they are one of the most shy angels. Hopefully this will improve as he gets more accustomed to the tank.

Well, I have a Scribbled named Squiggie and it is not shy much at all. She comes up to the glass and looks at me and will even eat out of my hand. I guess it really depends on the individual personality of the fish. If it is a large Scribbled it has been an adult in the wild for some time and has to get used to this new much smaller environment compared to the ocean. He may not know who to trust yet. Give it some time for the true personality to come out. Don't forget he was thrown into another fishes territory and may be dealing with bullying which makes a fish shy. Lesley
