Large salt water tanks in metro

Not sure now lawboy, we just changed out the middle one to a 20x15 and added a 45x45 to them off the back. We rented a backhoe to dig out a big tree trunk that was below the ponds and wound up having to dig a huge hole around 10' deep to get it out. Seeing how we had the equipment and a already huge hole to fill I just couldn't help myself :D

Morning Sadsak and thanks for the compliment. Ours is a 540 with a 240 refuguim and sump. Phillip has also added a 125 to the loop to use as a frag tank. It's still in the putting it together stage but hopefully by the meeting out here it will be settled. We do have some bad news though. We lost Stevie to a return. These are so powerful and when he got to close it grabbed him. I had to close it off to peel him off of it. We have now found some filters that are big enough to fit over them but the suction is still pretty powerful. I think now though if anything does get caught by them they will be able to get away. The blue spotted one is fine though and he's a lot bigger than Stevie was.

Sorry to hear of your loss Pam And Phillip. Me and the wife can't wait to see all the changes with both of your tanks and pond!

pamela, you are talking about the intak for a closed loop i take it? If you could put a T on the bulkhead and put a strainer on both sides of the T, it wouldnt allow the suction, because if one gets disrupted, the pressure is balanced out

Thanks Eddy, I just wished we had thought about it before we lost him. I saw a small banner butterfly actually turn somersaults when he happened to be in front of one of the tunzies when it came on but it didn't hurt him thank heavens.

There is a restaurant that is putting a 900gal FO with a 200+gal sump and 100+gal in line invert coral tank. That was his plan the last time that I talked to him anyway. It was going to be approx $100,000.00 but it was his passion and he had the money to spend the last time that I talked to him. We shall see.
