Most of the pics I notice on this board, whilst beautiful, show small, frag size corals. I, myself, certainly am proud of my small corals.
I would love to see pics of tanks that have harboured a coral for a long time, such as to grow a large size, relative to the tank, and as such testimony to long term sustained coral growth.
Sometimes I look at the tank pics and I think we're a hobby full of beginners, or people with new tanks and big budgets. I know this is not generally true. We are largely careful hobbiests that have cared for our specimens for years.. Perhaps the load of people with new tank or newly encrusted show-size coral pics is perhaps explained by the fact that as our new corals arrive, colour-up, or encrust, we're so happy we share, yet as we progress in the hobby, we become more comfortable...more confident in ourselves that the need to share for reinforcement diminishes.
I would love to see pics of some mature tanks and particularly larger corals that have grown up in a particular setting and how they respond to them.
Thanks
