For a future 4000 gallon project im trying to figure out what kind of equipment to use (filter skimmer ect.) i was thinking 3 aqua C 2000 skimmers rated for 2000 gallons each.. Tank inhabitants are most likely going to be some smaller sharks and im going to try for a green moray after i do a bit more research this project is being done with a friend over a long period of time so i am in no hurry.
Thank you

wow that will be a crazy tank! I cant imagine having 3 aqua c 2000's!! I thought my 400 was big!!make sure and have a soft bottom. I know sharks dont like or need a rought bottom to get cut on.

more important than the type of fish you are going to keep in the tank is the type of corals that your are going to keep. If it is going to be fish only, I doubt that you would need that much protein skiming, not that it would hurt.

i thought fowlrs would need more skimmers than reef because of the big bioload these guys would make from eating :S

A Bermuda Aquatics C14 could work, or a couple BK 650s if you're ok with dropping 12K+ on 2 skimmers. With a tank that size I would be running with some sort of sand or DE filter, IMO.

That's true, but a reef needs cleaner water.

Is this going to be a round or cornered tank?

Sharks don't like corners and tend to injure themselves. They need oval or round tanks to survive.
