Large Tank Move Help

I need ideas how to move my new tank into the basement. The tank is 48" long, 36" wide and 30" deep made from 3/4" glass. So it weighs somewhere in the ball park of 600 lbs. It is a straight shot through the back door down the stairs into the basement. The issue is that my doors are ony 32" wide so I will have to lay the tank on its side. So what i really need to know is will laying it side ways give me possible issues with leakage after it is set up and what is the best way to get the tank down the stairs? Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

Just a thought: You could build temporary wooden braces (2" x 4") to go inside the tank to support the sides during the move.

My tank is 84x38x27" and had no problem with 5 people lifting and moving it safely into my basment.
I would brace the TOP of the tank so any pressure from the FRONT of the tank is supported by the BACK of the tank.

I simply use 3/4" mdf board and made it a snug fit.
I also added wheels to the rig and pull handels with rope and 1" PVC pipe.

We rolled it most of the way.
