Large Tank, Viewable From 2 Sides, Wall Construstion Question?

Hi All,

I am in the planning stages of a 300-400 gallon display tank that will be started in a year or two. I currently have a 220 SPS reef that is built inwall. I constructed the wall basically as a large door opening with a 2x8 header supported by 2x4 uprights at either end.

The new tank I want to be viewable from two sides, front and one short side (right side when looking from the front). I am unsure how to go about the wall construction though since I do not want any support post at the front right corner if possible.

I have a few ideas that I think would work fine but was wondering if any of your guys with tank setups like this had any construction pictures. I plan is to then drywall and finish above the tank (other then the front access opening).

Thanks!

I think I saw some builds in this forum have similar thing. The best I think is to rely on the ceiling to support that corner of the wall above the tank.

I am planning on building a normal stand then incorporating it in the wall, this is what I did with my other setup.

My idea was to rely on the ceiling/floor joists to support the small "wall" above the tank on the front and side, should not be too much weight there. Just figured I would post here incase there were any better ideas/thoughts.

Oh, now I know what you mean. You won't have any problems doing it like that. You will basically have a small bulkhead over the tank (not the fish tank type of bulkhead ):p
