large wooden lagoon tank.

i was thinking about making a Lagoon tank 1000-1500G. for cost and space reasons i would assume a sealed wood tank for a lagoon would be the best/ cheapest/ easiest to fit option since the main viewing area is the surface. i just had a few questions for anyone with experience with wood reef tanks/ large lagoon tank/ tank building in general.
1. im planning to use a single 1000W light. is this ok for a lagoon? how deep should the water be and how high from the water should the light be hung?
2. what is used to seal wooden reef tanks? iv seen it in many threads but i always had to run an never had time to find out what they used to seal the plywood or the corners. if anyone has a guide on how this is done or a step by step description would be great.
3. would it be possible to add a plexiglass viewing window to see in the side of the lagoon? using the pressure of the water to keep the seal with... silicone or something? or would it be too likely to start leeking?
4. will tank this size will be fine in the basement? dont want any suprizes down the road.
this was also posted in the NTH forum, but i thought it might get more responses here.

1, it's a lot of focused light over the tank. you would have to have it a few feet off the tank to get a decent spread over the tank.

2, most use an epoxy such as MAS or wests. there are several "paints" out there that seal, but these (epoxy based) are pretty safe.

3, yes, you can do plexi/acrylic or even glass. the water will hold it pretty firmly in place, the silicone will provide the sealant for it.

4, the only thing to worry about in the basement is the humidity from a tank that size. if you have good air circulation down there and a decent dehumidifier then you're in good shape.
