As the title states, here is my newest venture. I just put water in it yesterday! It is currently running with a Taam Rio 640gph pump, a small heater, the filter contents made for Aqua Clear 30 gallon (biomax carbon and a sponge), over 20 pounds of rock and rubble and 10 pounds of Arag Alive Fiji Pink sand. You can find a more in depth discription of the DIY portion of this tank on my DIY thread http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2132962

The tank sits on a bar between my kitchen and my dining room and so needed 3 viewable sides. The front, back and one end are all display and the other end has a false wall 6 inches from the actual end of the tank where the filtration, pump and a very small refugium are housed.

Here is the tank on day 2 of being set up:

looks like a great start! what are your plans as far as fish and corals? i like the aio set you made!

I like how it's open on 3 sides, and how you blacked out the AIO section- makes it look cleaner. I've been thinking about doing something similar so I'm looking forwards to reading you DIY thread- I'm surprised I missed it before now.

Keep the updates coming, I'm looking forward to seeing this tank develop

I plan on putting a pair of misbar occelaris, a randalls goby and pistol shrimp and a couple of barnacle blennies and having a predominantly sps dominated tank. I have a rapid led par38 bulb hanging above the tank. Has anyone here had much success with sps growing under these lights? I want really vibrant skittles colored coral. I know I want a rainbow monti, and I plan to use magnetic plugs to keep a grape monti and sour apple monti on the false wall (Im going to keep them well trimmed so they dont cast too much of a shadow and I want a realllllly blue acro. Other than that Im sure I will just impulse buy things as I see them

I added another 10 lb bag of sand and here are some pics of the new inhabitants

Misbar that was sold to me as a an Ocellaris, but I have been getting alot of feedback that it is probably a perc. I have already ordered an ORA extreme misbar ocellaris to go with him so if we get down the road and it becomes apparent that he is a perc, I guess I will have to get another perc and move the ora fish to the frag tank.

The original clownfish jumped so I got a pair of Ora Misbar Perculas The smaller one looks almost exactly like the one I lost. I have added a piece of plastic grid to the top of the tank until I can make a screen
