lava rock

Lava rock to me is either red or black. Very sharp. What you would see in saltwater tanks in the early 80's. How come you just don't go cherry pick the live rock at the LFS? More viable.

Use what is called lace lava rock, just scrub it down good to clean it of surface dirt and lichons. I'd also let it soak a bit in some water and check the Ph

Lace lava rock is very dense, it forms completly different then the pumace types. It is typically a dark brown color and makes great arches and shelves.

I have 110lbs in my system and it's covered in coraline and other critters. After it's been in the system for a few months you can't tell it from the live rock
