lawnmower blenny?

Would a mower be ok with horses? I've been told they would be fine, but it wasn't a seahorse forum that told me that so I want to double check.
The stock will be in a 38:
3 horses
1 green clown goby
1 firefish
3 pepp shrimp
2 scarlet reef hermies
snails

Will there be room for a mower, that's what I'd like if it would be an ok addition... otherwise do you have a suggestion for any other tankmates? I like pajama cardinals but I'd like to add 3 when I do, and I'm afraid that would be overstocking?
Thanks for looking!

I am not sure but I think it is not a good idea. Because lawnmower blennies love algea and it grows on sh's. and they pick on them stressing them out.

I dunno either- is it on the tankmates lists anywhere? or search at either of the .orgs in the tankmates sections.

Here's your negative response.....Lawmower blenny is a NO. Many have tried, and have had to remove the blenny. Don't try it.

I keep a Mandarin with my ponies. He's trained to eat PE Mysis and man is he fat. You could try one but make sure it eats frozen.

I'm not going to try a mandarin, even tho I'd love one more than anything... but I had a "scooter blenny" that was eating a couple big frozen mysis every day, but he still died. Tom, could you please tell my why it's such a bad idea, or can you suggest a fish to go with what I have? Thanks!

I guess I got lucky. I had a small lawnmower with my horses and there was no problem. The lawnmower did quickly learn to love mysis and thus was no help with the algae but he and the horses got along just fine.

I just removed my LM blenny from my SH tank. It was eating my feather caulerpa! I couldn't figure out why it was disappearing. Now I know. Grrrrr Of course the blenny didn't touch the hair algae or the razor caulerpa that is overtaking the tank.

BUT, the blenny never bothered the horses. So I don't think it's a problem adding one to your tank.

I had one in with my horses, kept picking algea off of them. They did NOT like that. Finally tore the tank down to catch the little bugger. I did NOT like that.
