leather coral droppings

So this is a 1st for me... I notice about a month ago the my decent sized leather, had developed a small rip in it hood, over time it has gotten larger to the point that it dropped a few "frags" of itself and all the time w/ full polyp extention on both pieces... normal/bad right??

Normal, its how they proliferate.

Think of it as labor free fragging. Pretty much all leathers do it. They grow back quickly and now you have a brand new coral that you could grow out/sell

My large sarcophyton does it at least every 4-5 months or so
