leather coral dying?

I have a green leather coral that for the past few weeks, the polyps have been closed, and it's shivled. The base has a brown slime that extends about a quarter inch up from the base. It started with black spot, and the coral seemed to gone down from that point. I have moved it, thining maybe the flow or light wasn't enough. can anyone tell me is it dying or just sliming?

Black spot is dead coral. Place it in an area with more flow.

Sounds like sliming up. If it was dying, it would be dissolving away.

I moved it to an area with more flow, and I will see how it does.

that's what i thought at first, but it's been weeks and it's looking worse. How long does it typically take to slim? From what I understand, sliming is nothing to worry about?
