I have been building my 90 gallon leathers and shrooms tank for about 3 months and it looks great. But there are a few question I have that I was hopping an expert leather keeper could answer for me.

I have been feeding the following:

Iodine- 20 ml every day is this to much or not enough?
Phytopkankton- two time a week
corlal vite- one time a week
essential elements- one time a week
stronium- one time a week

Is there some things I should be feeding more often?

Is there something Im not feeding my leathers that I should be?

Alot of people say don't add anything you don't test for, and it makes pretty good sense to me so I dont and my tank is algae free after a month and a half and the coral's I have are doing great.

20 ml of iodine seems to be pretty excessive as there is alot of speculation of talk about whether it does more harm than good.

But I'm pretty new, someone with alot more experience could probably tell you alot more useful info than me.

IMHO buying a lot of additives are a rip off and may do more harm than good to your tank. If you buy a decent brand of salt it should have all the trace elements your tank needs.

That being said I have dosed for specific reasons. For example iron when my macroalgae was fading out, iodine to help with shrimp molt, etc. When I do dose it's always much less that the bottle recommends. I add about 2-3 drops of iodine to my 29G tank about once every 4-5 months. I add maybe 4-5 drops of iron only when the macros seem to need it, which is typically every 3 months or so. I don't add anything to feed my leathers. They'll get what they need from lighting or minerals from the water. I do add a bit of phyto for my feather dusters and I suppose the leather might take some of that.
