Leather polyp extension related to....?

some of you may have seen my fiji yellow leather thread...

anyway, i'm starting to get some polyp extension, but i'm wondering if it is directly related to anything in particular?

and will they extend polyps on only parts of the coral that are "up to their standards" or is it an "all or nothing" type thing?

for example, most of my polyp extension is happening on the high light and high flow part of the coral. down in the cup still flat. you can kinda see what i mean...

If it is new to te tank it can take awile for it to adjust.

it's a week old, but i'm just wondering if there are any correlations to polyp extension on certain areas being in "the right place" or if it's the whole coral...

Hi GQJake81 ; I have a new green finger leather for about 2 weeks and it is not extended yet. I guess it needs time to adjust to the new conditions. Happy Reefing!!!!:rollface:
