I have a 2.5 gallon nano that has been established for about 5 months. It has an AC20 with only Chemi-Pure in the basket. Lighting is a 18Wx2 Coralife.
I have 3 leathers and a large patch of GSP that retracted 3 days ago and have not come back. The leathers are shrunken and prune-y, but still have their shape (like when they are disturbed). The GSP still has its shape and deep purple color, but has only 20 or so of its 200+ polyps extended. The ends of some tubes are slightly wrinkled.
Params are a pH of 8.1 and all zeros on ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. SG is 1.026. Temp is approx 79. The goby, sexy shrimp, zoos, xenia, shrooms, kenya, ric, etc.. are all doing great.
The only change I recently made is to remove the glass cover from the tank. I did not put the acrylic cover on the light fixture for about 24 hours.
Is there a chance that I burned or shocked them by removing the glass? If so, why is everything else ok?
Is there a UV concern like with MH?
Other thoughts?
