Leathers ... please help!

About a week ago, I added a refugium. The addition resulted in an additional powerhead and a change in the overall waterflow in my tank.

Since then, one of my leathers has refused to open. Will he recover? Any suggestions?

If he will not recover, would it be ok to frag several pieces from him?

As long as it is not wasting away, it should be okay.

Is there more or less flow on your leather from the powerhead?

I had a leather close up for over 3 months when I moved it's position in my tank at one time. The can survive a very long time in the closed state.

they take a long time to get used to new spot, no worries, just give it good current and light. if it's stats showing brown/dark spots u should become worried, that is dying flesh. but they r very hardy and think u should b fine

yes leathers do not like to be moved but they are very hardy and will open up eventually but try to keep constant current off of the leather and mabe alittle lower lighting for awhile if you can.Watch out if he starts flaking apart though .and try not to move him or touch him anymore

They are some tempermental corals... As long as it isn't disintegrating, let it go and it will eventually open up for you. It may start looking really bad, but as long as it holds together, I wouldn't worry about it. It's not being blasted directly by a ph is it?
