LED and SPS

I'm hearing mixed info on whether or not LEDs can grow SPS and also not cause them to lose their color. Is there anyone here who grows colorful SPS under LED lights? If so, what kind? Thank you.

I do not have a problem growing anything I want under LED. They work just fine if you can deal with the two issues inherent to all LED lights.

First is the point source nature of the light. You will need more units than the manufactures recommend to reduce shading, especially when things grow in.

Second is getting a light schedule that works for you. The units are still relatively young and there is no uniformity across manufacturers. You will need to find people that run the same units to get advice.

My tank from May at 2 years old, just so you know I am legit. I use AI hydra 52 units all corals from 1" frags.

Thanks, I use aquaillumination Hydra 52 on my main tank and hydra 26 on my frag tank. I have seen nice tanks using many different manufacturers.
