led diy kit opinions

If u were going to use a diy kit for a standard 10 gallon which one would you use from the following link. I would like to be able to keep anything i would ever want in this tank

The 8LED should be good. The 12 might be a bit too bright. How far are you mounting the heatsink from the tank?

That was was going to be the next question. From wbat i have read 6-8 inchs looks to b the normal

What about a 14 light dimmable kit that would give me the ability to add a red light or two and the dimmable feature would be nice for newcomers.

<8" and you won't need any lenses.
If you go above 8" then you will need 80* lenses.

If you can do the 14 Dimmable kit I would go with that. You'll have to dim the LEDs down to 60% though, 14LEDs is a lot of light.

I just picked up a LedTric True Color PAR 38 for my Pico - They are on sale till the end of april
