LED Light red slime out break

Help!!!!!!!!!
I upgraded my light, I use to have a led light with 24 cree 3w lights on a 9 inch heat sink 6 white, 18 blue over a 58 gallon.

Now I have a 20 inch heat sink with 36 Chinese 3w LED lights 12 white and 24 blue.

So my light is like two weeks old and I have a huge red slime out break.
It is all over my corals rock.

What is going on?

The light is the only change my parameter is good no change.

What's the tds coming out of the rodi? How long a light period? It is a bacteria, so maybe it come on a new frag or something?

How long a light period? Blue 2 hours white and blue 8 hours 10 total.

The only new thing is the light.

The tank is 9 months old.

The only thing I can think of then is the ratio change. Your color temp went from somewhere in the 17-20+K range to more of a 14-18ish range. Obviously, you have more light now, and the temp varies on how you're dimming, but if everything, including feeding schedules, livestock, and foods you use are the same, I guess we can blame your light, lol...skimmer is working fine too?

Red Slime happens get the Red Slime Remover. Its a yellow powder, works wonders. My tank has been set up for quite a while and I recenly had red slime come back. After two doses it is completely gone. its only 14.00

Just live with the slime, it will disappear once the beneficial bacterial outweighs it.

Are the lights dimmable? I have to keep mine dialed back to 80% or I have cyano start growing... it is always there just have to keep it in check... the red slime remover will kill any pods in your tank .. good luck

Red Slime Remover is basically arithromyacin antibiotic, how would it kill pods?

Just lots of reports of such cases.. I havent tried it cause I need pods for mandarin.

Thanks for all the good advice. I turned my lights down and it seem to help.

+1 on this statement.... I had a huge cyano and slime outbreak while my rock was curing, dealt with it for almost two months, big WCs, constant GFO & Carbon, and now it has run its course.

There is very little here to say your LEDs magically are creating red slime.. just my .02.
