LED Lighting for a 70 Gallon

Hey guys...
I am thinking of getting my first LED setup going... thinking about this one...

tank dimensions are 36" x 24" x 18"...
Once installed the LEDs will be about 4" away from the water surface.

what do you think, any possible problems?

I don't think 28 leds will be enough. At least not with a standard uniform light type of setup. Maybe if you just position a couple of small groups over your corals it will work.

Also these LEDs are not very efficient. 3.6Vf at 700mA and 89l/w vs 3.2Vf at 700mA and 139l/w for the Cree XP-G (and there are even more efficient leds like the XM-L).

I like the way the use the heat sink... You think I can do Cree that way?

Sure you can. Heatsink has nothing to do with brand and all to do with heat . There are a lot of builds on RC that have used only U channel aluminum and nothing else.
